Chris Judd to Captain Revitalised Blues

The worst kept secret in the AFL has been confirmed today with Carlton announcing that former West Coast Captain Chris Judd will captain the Blues in season 2008.

With many believing Judd left the troubled Eagles over issues with his teamates terrible off-field behaviour, Chris appears to be relishing the culture at his new club.

“It’s always a challenging job leading any AFL side, but I think it’s a pretty exciting time for the footy club and I’m very confident in the strength of the leadership group as a whole", Chris stated at the announcement.

Glad that he will have something to do while he sits out of the game nursing his groin!

He looked okay at training last year too.  As soon as he played and attempted to kick on the run his injury became obvious.

Word is that he hasn’t done any competitive work and I think he hasn’t backed up session after session. He also “tweeked” it lately. I say he doesn’t play until week 5 at the earliest.

This is actually great news for the Blues as they aren’t helped by performing well this year. They would be much better off losing again this year and getting better draft picks!
