***** in the City: ***** Collaborations 2008

Welcome to my coverage of the 2008 ***** Collaborations conference. My name is Lilithbytes and as a participating member of the ***** Collaborations conference being held in Melbourne, I feel it necessary to report the state of the pumpkin to those fans and critics of our lifestyle. I am from Western Australia, if journeyed over as a representative of my University, for discussion, participation and in my case I also have an agenda. But you will receive these details as I post a 3 part series entitled '***** in the City'.

So far I have been in this city for 2.3 days, and well I guess I feel a little excluded already, you see I am a minority within a minority, a non drinking, non sexually active, vegan transsexual, that means I am seperated from the involving lifestyles of free love, politics, activism and sex. Even I wanted to be involved, I believe we do not have to assume that sex is going to happen, just because we're *****, in fact, do we even like the word *****? Do we even associate with societal labels rendering us as social opponents rather than keen young activists? Well I am here to report some of the heroes of our generation, and amongst the ruckus, tears and hard fought co-operations, perhaps we will make a friend with whom I can share my own experiences with.

But instantly I am awed and excluded at the hidden wrath of fashion, epigraphy and yes HOMOSEXUALITY. The hidden beauty of my own experience is that I exist as an observer, while I would not challenge the political rights of gays or lesbians, their victories do not particularly accompany my own, so I reserve my energies for surfeit explication of the cause for which I am here; Gender. As much as I appreciate the intricate and binding nature of my own political position, the delicate bondage of invisibility, I must fashion a space within political hierarchy of issues, for which I as an X-gendered person must confront all kinds of resistances to create a space for a generation of peoples who should not have to have experiences in their youth such as I did. That is my cause, a non sexual label that allows a pre sexual gender ambiguous identity to exist, so that the many youth who live in fear of getting caught can find education and some explanation of the troubles they are going through.

Yet the Gay and Lesbian cause is not yet won, and the ***** community, as it exists externally from the mainstream political sphere must reckonings of its own including Pride Parades, University Collaborations and many other activities which comprise the larger than your perceptions of 'them' perspective. So I hope you wish me luck for the non girls and boys who identify with someone or something which is not how they have been taught to be, its compassion, and it its not judgements of pervasion, or disgust, but a peer group, a social possibility, to seperate gender and sex, sexuality from existing social issues, and perhaps this is one of the reason we are so afraid of the 'third gender' it happens so suddenly, that we feel betrayed. My goal is to seperate and create a seperate cause and a unifying motion to group transsexual and the gender excluded from the gay and lesbian political muscle and squeeze.

But the article is really in existence to report the events and proceedings of the ****** you don't see, the ones that stand up to future parliamentarians, win funding and confront the oppressions of those that encircle the human rights to which we are all entitled. Homosexual men and women and other are community leaders as much as heterosexual men and women (and other?). In fact they compete at the same tests, earn the same money, and attempt the same kind of happiness in most cases, and they are fully deserving of it, and also medallions that would say 'We are heroes, We have fought in a war that you would not recognise' and emerged as the scarred, the hurt, surviving, the prospering and the uncertain. They help forge a consensual reality in society for which we can participate peacefully, for their friends and enemies alike.

But let's look at the real issue, there is a lifestyle which exists with real valour, beauty and identity which is collaborating for a better future, but not exclusively their own, but the collective human idea, for identity as it exists not and identity as it will continue to evolve until all life and fun is expelled from the universe. Let us wish them well and hope that some real experiences can create some real benefits.

Wow, I cannot believe for the life of me that that 5 letter word is censored.  Let’s just say it is a commonly used word to describe the homosexual community.  Is this an issue for address here at Norg?

LOL- will get that fixed. Our censor needs a little tweaking at times - but has also resulted in some funny deletions.  It’s just an added spam protector ;-)

Also, if you type the word like t h i s - it gets around the problem for the moment. The filter we use in an open source one and not one we have created ourselves.
