***** in the City - Final Day
The final day of the ***** Collaborations conference held in Melbourne included the regular cycle of workshops and lectures. It was particularly retitnent being the last day for ***** activists to wind up their selected demographics and unite for the final summary of the conference, make some changes and prepare for the conference next year. The leaders of the conference if can be such a thing in a highly socialist group were Bree Ahrens and James Vigus, who respectively are the national female and male ***** officers for the National Union of Students.
There were some very important conferences today, including a taboo lecture about the horrific actions which discriminate with punishment the homosexual acts in countries such as Iran. The mistreatments of men and women, particularly the discrimination against homosexual men is brutal and must be changed, the governments of the respective countries confronted, and asylum provided for those fleeing these nations. Homosexuality has been judged by fear, and it is fear which must be confronted in order to break the suppression of healthy and positive sexualities.
I also gave out some information about my own tasks at hand, namely the X-gender issues which was not to as large an audience as I would have liked, nor did I have enough time in retrospect. But as a developing project there needs to be some more collaboration before something like this gains momentum and a political presence, the need for it is there, but next year there will be some organisation. The final conclusion meeting followed, summary and discussion of key points and process which lead to decisions to introduced at the next conference.
My opinion of the conference was that there are a number of ideas about ***** people, which are... true of people, in a group a large group, I find it to be an almost hyper-real world of kaleidoscope colours, beliefs, discussions and the most interesting feature of all, the hair. Hair ranged from midback length red dreadlocks, rainbow mohawks, reserved neat non dyed and casual, beaded, shaved, long, short and of course wigs which would hide the true nature of hair. This is trademark of the anarchistic union which mottled and 'vibrant' unites passion and violence and reason, and well, softness, and invisibility, with gigantic monsters from Neptune in order to unite an ethical ***** community.
The conference will be held in Canberra next year, after the group attending this year's conference, gave a presentation, the theme in our nation's capital will reflect the political stagnance, which is associated with the history of parliamentary actions and mistakes. It will be a lot of fun and it will mean cheaper travel for all, considering it is a central centre. I am glad to have attending the conference this year and am looking forward to attending next year, hopefully with an itinerary in motion which can help my presentation with some numbers and activities.
I hope you've enjoyed my coverage of ***** Collaborations 2008.
